Oxford Reading Tree around the world
Oxford Reading Tree is one of the most popular reading schemes in the world. It is highly successful because children love the characters and want to read about them, it is easy for teachers to use, and is an ideal way to encourage parental support.
Support for the bilingual/ESL classroom
Oxford Reading Tree makes reading enjoyable, motivating children to learn English. The language is authentic and natural sounding, allowing children to experience native speaker English.
In addition, we have produced resources specifically to support children learning English:
- Clear and detailed teaching notes with photocopiable pages including word cards and cloze exercises
- Tips on reading the story, eliciting oral responses and relating stories to children's experience
- Individual and group reading with an emphasis on pronunciation
