"Floppy’s phonics are a great way to practise phonics in context i.e. when reading a story. They are able to segment and blend words so that they can read them independently, giving confidence to succeed at these early reading stages.

The children already know and love Floppy and his family so they are well motivated to read and find out what he is up to. The books are colour coded to match Book Bands so that they can easily be incorporated into the school’s reading scheme. The books have useful suggestions for activities to do during and after reading and tasks for children to complete independently thus saving teacher time."

"I was looking for a reading resource that would enable children to develop their reading skills using the key words as well as develop their phonic knowledge. Floppy's Phonics is an engaging set of books that uses colourful picture cues and cvc words that are easy to decode and allows children to enjoy the story using characters that they are familiar with. I have used Floppy's Phonics alongside my daily phonic sessions and they compliment each other by allowing children to enhance their decoding skills.

The children love the stories with the clear pictures and text. Children have benefited from reading using this scheme by using some of the words in their own writing. They understand how to blend phonemes to get interesting words to make sentences. I am pleased I have invested in this resource as it has allowed both boys and girls to become more confident readers whatever their age.

"When I joined Rye Croft School last year many of the pupils in my class not only couldn't read but had a real fear and dislike of reading generated by the underlying fear that they were no good at reading. I slowly introduced Floppy's Phonics, using it as a guided reading resource.

Within a term of using Floppy's Phonics the pupils in my class went from a Level P6 to a Level 1A/1B but perhaps more importantly they now enjoy reading and are more confident readers. One girl in my class said "Miss I can read after all and I am really good at it."
